Abstract:【Objective】 To investigate the causations, management and prevention methods on the complications of hysteroscopic procedures. 【Methods】 Hysteroscopic procedures were retrospectively analyzed in our hospitals from January 2002 to December 2011. 【Results】 Among the cases, 31(0.40%) patients developed complications, including 18 cases of uterine perforation, 4 cases of hemorrhage, 4 cases of transurethral of the prostate (TURP) syndrome, 4 cases of pelvic infection, and 1 case of intrauterine adhesions. The complication rate before 2006 was obviously greater than that after 2006 (P <0.05). The complication rate grade 1 and 2 was obviously lower than grade 3 and 4 (P <0.01). The complication rate in hysteroscopy made by the inexperienced developing hysteroscopic surgery less than 1 year was greater than that by the experienced (P <0.01). All the 31 patients were cured. 【Conclusion】 It is suggested by our data that the complication in hysteroscopic procedures showed downward year by year. The complications of hysteroscopic surgery are mainly associated with the experience of surgeons and difficulty of the operation. The keys are to reduce the complications by deep understanding complications, training step by step and basic skills.
